THE TOMATO BEFORE THE MEAL

Something happens to tomatoes that are left in the heat for a long time. Oven-baked tomatoes on toast or fried bread with pesto and basil leaves are a great way to start the party.

Do this:

Divide the cocktail tomatoes and brush with olive oil. Season with a little granulated sugar, salt and black pepper. Place on baking paper on a tray in the oven and bake at 100 degrees for about an hour to give the tomatoes a delicious flavor. Toast or fry white bread and punch out rounds. Place a dollop of pesto on each piece of bread and then a baked tomato half. Garnish with basil leaves.
