PEARS FOR PARTY

Invite to a tea party with the most beautiful cake in harvest time. Here we have put whole pears in the chocolate batter and then baked everything in the oven so that the pears become soft. When you cut up the pieces and serve, the already beautiful pear cake will be even more beautiful with pear filling in the center.

We have chosen to make a classic chocolate cake, but it goes well with sponge cake too, just remember to get the cake high enough to get the effect of the pears Experiment with baking other fruits in the same way or browse through the recipe book and find other cakes that fit the party.

Choose soft pears. Most fruits become soft when baked in the oven. If you have a pear tree with very hard pears, you can soften them by letting them simmer in syrup for a few minutes before putting them in the cake.

Ingredients

3 soft pears - preferably conference type

3 dl granulated sugar

2.5 dl wheat flour

1.5 tsp baking powder

4 tsp vanilla sugar

5 tbsp cocoa

150 g melted butter that has cooled down

2 eggs

1.5 dl hot water

Set the oven to 175-200 degrees.

Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.

Add the butter and then the eggs one at a time.

Add the water last and whisk well. Turn the batter into a suitable mold - preferably with baking paper at the bottom so that it is easy to remove when it is ready. Bake at the bottom of the oven for about 30-45 minutes. Feel gently with a stick if it is ready.

Let it cool before placing it on a tray and serving with a dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy.
